Stellungnahme des Orga-Teams vom Radical Queer March zu den Vorkommnissen und dem Demoabbruch
1. In dem Wissen darum, dass es wahrscheinlich zu Eskalationen kommen würde, wenn Nationalstaatsfahnen weiterwehen und Anspielungen auf Nationalstaatsgebilde weiterhin gezeigt würden, haben wir mehrmals dazu aufgerufen, diese herunterzunehmen oder die Demo zu verlassen. Auch nach mehrmaligen Aufrufen dazu wurde dieser Aufforderung von Menschen im BDS-Block nicht Folge geleistet. Es folgten verschiedene Versuche von Mitgliedern des Orga-Teams mit Personen im BDS Block eine Übereinkunft über das Abnehmen von Nationalflaggen, Symboliken und Inhalten, die in Teilen antisemitisch waren, zu erwirken. Innerhalb der Demonstration ist es daraufhin zu gewalttätigen Übergriffen gekommen – diese umfassten gezieltes Abfilmen von Personen, sexistische und misogyne verbale Angriffe, wie auch körperliche Angriffe. Es kam zu Störungen von Redebeiträgen, die durch Rufe übertönt wurden, was als gewaltsam empfunden wurde.
2. Wir haben auf Nachfrage der Polizei mehrmals deutlich gemacht, dass wir – trotz klarer Ablehnung des Verhaltens und der Methoden vom BDS auf der Demo (Nicht-eingehen auf Aufforderungen, die Symboliken abzunehmen, sexistische Übergriffe, Abfilmen von Einzelpersonen etc., die uns zu der mehrmaligen Aufforderung, die Demo zu verlassen, veranlassten) – k e i n e Intervention und den Ausschluss einer Teilgruppe der Demo durch die Polizei haben wollen. Wir haben betont, dass wir weder einen Kessel noch eine Kette noch Spalier des BDS Blocks durch Cops wollen. Trotz mehrfacher klarer Zurückweisung haben die Cops plötzlich den hinteren Teil der Demo (sprich BDS-Block + Teil dahinter) abgetrennt und den Demozug gespalten. Daraufhin sind Orga-Personen zu der Kette gegangen und haben sich dem Vorgehen der Berliner Polizei entschieden entgegengesetzt und eine Auflösung der Polizeikette bewirkt. Es tut uns leid, dass es zu dieser polizeilichen Maßnahme gegen unseren erklärten Willen kam und Menschen dadurch Schaden genommen haben.
Zudem gilt es klarzustellen, dass der Lauti und somit der vordere Teil der Demo nicht weitergezogen sind, um Menschen bei den Cops im Stich zu lassen. Die beiden Personen, die mit den Cops diskutiert haben, hatten in dem Moment keine Möglichkeit via Telefon Kontakt zum Lauti aufzunehmen und diesen anhalten zu lassen – Dass es zu diesem Vorfall kam, war unserer nicht ausreichenden Kommunikationsstruktur geschuldet. Dass wir es nicht geschafft haben, eine ausreichende Kommunkationsstruktur zu gewährleisten, tut uns Leid.
3. Sowohl gewalttätige Übergriffe zwischen Demoteilnehmenden, als auch das repressive Eingreifen der Cops haben uns schließlich dazu veranlasst, die Demo an S+U Warschauer Straße aufzulösen. Die Gleichzeitigkeit von Gewalt innerhalb der Demo und der Bedrohung durch Polizeigewalt von außen konnten wir nicht weitertragen. In Anbetracht der Vorkommnisse, die es bereits zu Beginn der Demo gegeben hat, ist rückblickend die Frage berechtigt, ob die Demo bereits bei Waldemarstraße/ Lausitzer Platz hätte aufgelöst werden müssen.
Wir distanzieren uns hiermit noch einmal ausdrücklich von der Gewalt, die in der Waldemarstraße von den Cops ausging sowie von der Gewalt, die innerhalb der Demo selbst präsent war! Des Weiteren distanzieren wir uns nach wie vor von einzelnen Symboliken und Inhalten, die trotz Aufforderung nicht heruntergenommen wurden!
Statement of the Orga-team of the Radical Queer March on the incidents and demo dissolution
1. Knowing that it would likely lead to escalations, if national flags and references to nation-state structures continue to be shown, we have several times called to take these down or leave the demo. Even after several calls this was not performed by people in the BDS block. Various attempts were made by members of the organizing team to obtain agreement with people in the BDS bloc on the taking down of national flags, symbols and content that was in part antisemitic. Thereupon, violent attacks took place within the demonstration, including deliberate filming of individuals, sexist and misogynistic verbal attacks, as well as physical attacks. There were disturbances of speeches that were drowned by shouts, which was perceived as violent.
2. Despite a clear rejection of the attitude and methods of the BDS at the demo (not reacting to calls to take down certain symbols and flags, sexist aussaults and filming of individuals etc. that caused various prompts to leave the demo) we have repeatedly made it clear on request of the police that we do not want any intervention and the exclusion of a subgroup of demo by the police. We have emphasized that we do not want a cauldron or a chain or trellis by cops. Despite multiple clear rejection, the cops have finally separated the back of the demo (that means BDS block + part behind it) and split the demo. As a result, orga persons went to the chain and, where they decidedly opposed the actions of the Berlin police, thereby causing a dissolution of the police chain. We are sorry that this police action came against our declared will and harmed people.
Also it’s important to clarify that the Lauti and with it the front part of the demo did not move on to leave people alone with the cops. In that moment the two orga-persons communicating with the cops had no opportunity to contact the Lauti via phone to tell them to stop. That incident happened due to a lacking communication structure. We are very sorry, that we didn’t manage to provide a sufficient communication structure.
3. Both violent attacks between demo participants as well as the repressive intervention of the cops finally led us to dissolve the demo on S + U Warschauer Straße. We could not carry on the simultaneity of violence within the demo and the threat of police violence from the outside. In view of the events that had already happened at the beginning of the demo, retrospectiveley the question is justified, whether the demo should already have been dissolved at Waldemarstraße / Lausitzer Platz.
We hereby expressly distance ourselves once more from the violence that emanated from the cops in Waldemarstraße and from the violence that was present within the demo itself! Furthermore, we still distance ourselves from individual symbols and contents that were not taken down despite being prompted!
